Check for CDW and SLI.
Collision Damage Waiver (CWD), Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) or Physical Damage Waiver (PDW): around $10/day, the car rental company will waive all or part of its cost if the rental car is damaged or stolen. It will not cover any expenses if you cause an accident that damages other vehicles or results in injuries. Contact with your credit card’s bank to check if this is covered and for how many days. Also if you have insurance for your own car maybe that will also extend to car you rent, check with your insurance company. Understand the limit from the bank or the insurance company. In USA no need to pay any deductible that you would have to pay in the event of an accident. Check for deductible in other country. Higher deductible lower price for CWD.
Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) or Supplemental Liability Protection (SLP): around $10.95/day. It protects against claims made by a third party for bodily injury and/or property damages sustained as a result of an accident.
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI): around $3/day. It provides medical, ambulance and death benefits for the renter and passengers of the rental car in the event of an accident. The medical coverage is usually around $3,500 and the ambulance benefit $150. Typically the death benefit is $175,000 for the renter and $17,500 for the passenger.
Personal Effects Coverage (PEC): around $2/day. usually provides $500 per person of insurance coverage, with a $1,500 maximum, for theft of personal effects of the renter and his or her family.
